Traffic accidents death in Capital drop by 25pc
Rates of death as a result of traffic accidents in Abu Dhabi and its suburbs during the first quarter of this year dropped to 36 from 48 in the corresponding last year by 25 percentage according to Colonel Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, director of traffic and patrols department at the general headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police.
He underlined the efforts being excreted to reduce the rate of traffic accidents, which claim lives and inflict material, loses by enhancing the awareness campaigns and cracking down the traffic violators.
Other measures the department considers to bring down the accidents are an expansion of the electronic control system, he noted. Most of the serious accidents occur due to the non adherence and negligence of the traffic rules and regulations .inculcating a sense of adherence to the traffic rules will curb the accidents and make the roads safer, he added.
