Traffic Police ready to implement vehicle regulations
Abu Dhabi Traffic Police have taken all efforts to implement the directives of Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior, with regard to the regulations related to the vehicle weights and axle distance to be allowed on public roads which will come in to force from the first of January 2006.
The Traffic department has already announced the permitted weights and axle distance repeatedly in all the news papers and also has organized seminars to clarify the details and clear any of the doubts that any individual owner or the trasportcompanies may

According to Colonel Gaith Al Zaabi ,director of traffic and licensing department at the Genera Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police ,the new regulations will be strictly enforced from the first of January and various out posts will be set up to monitor the implementation of the regulations.
Any violation will incur heavy fines ranging from 500dhirams to 10,000dhirams.any repeated offenders will face a one month jail term besides the fine of 1000dhs.
Colonel Al Zaabi called upon the all transportation companies and others concerned to strictly implement the regulations and cooperate with the police to assure free flow of traffic and also maintain the safety standards.
