Symposium on social security impact of internet
The Center for Research and Security affairs at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, Ministry of Interior has organized a scientific symposium about the social and security impact of the internet. The symposium will go on for two days where many experts from different countries are participating.
The symposium is held under the patronage of His Highness Lt. Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior.
During the opening secession of the symposium, Mohammed Al Hamadi, legal consultant of the Ministry of Justice spoke about the laws regarding controlling the information technology crimes in the emirates and its judicial applications.
Mr. Jim Dozier from Sam Houston State University, School of Criminal Justice Texas, USA spoke about the internet and the criminal Justice.Mr. Ostaz Abdul Wahab Mustafa, from General information authority discussed the issues related to information crime and the laws and regulations attached to it.
The opening secession was also graced by Major General Mohammed Khamis al Gunaibi, Commissioner General at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Mohammed Gumaa Al Darmaki, Brigadier Dr.Abdullah al Musharakh, Lt.Col.Dr.Khaleed Saeed al Naqbi, Lt.Col.Dr.Abdullah Buhindi and many other Senior Police Officers from various departments of the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police and the Ministry of Interior.
Dr. Ahammed Husain al Khayat from the Ministry of Education presented a paper on the effect of internet on the education process. Dr.Saleh Suleiman presented a paper on the application of internet at the UAE University and its impact on the outcome of performance. Other speakers from the University included Dr.Izel Din Salimand Dr.Zuhair bin Mustafa. Dr. Abdul Rahman Ghalib, from the faculty of education at the UAE University,
The symposium mainly concentrated on the social and security aspects of the internet such as technology based crime controlling mechanisms, child abuse through internet, the global scenario of the cyber crimes ,destructive effects of electronic high jacking, newly invented cyber crimes ,planting of internet virus ,high jacking of information ,spreading of internet pornography were among the other topics discussed. The symposium will conclude its deliberations on Tuesday
