Special cards for farm labourers
Abu Dhabi Naturalization and Residency department has begun taking new measures to streamline the faming industry in the emirate in terms of recruitment and to avoid the misuse of residency laws.
Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director ADNRD said that the new regulation would ensure that each farm in the emirate employs only six laboures as maximum limit. Based on the new regulation 1000sq ft of farm land would be entitled to only one farm labourer. His department is working out the modality to issue new special cards for animal resource and agriculture.
He said that the card is aimed at controlling the number of labourers in the farms, there by identifying violations of residency laws. The card would be issued from early January next year and will have a validity of three years.
The new system is being introduced as per the directives of the Minister of Interior Lt. Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has ordered the constant easy facilitation of services to the public using modern technology, he added.
