Police takes road safety message to the people

 Traffic Week programs focus on Collective Responsibility

  

The 20 G.C.C. Traffic Week ,with Campaign slogan “Traffic safety is a Collective Responsibility” kicked off yesterday and the Abu Dhabi police made the Marina mall as  main venue for the events , with a traffic village set up  to spread the message of safety to all cross section of the society through various activities and events being organized through out the week.

 

Major General Saif Al Sha’afar,Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of Interior after opening the traffic week events  ,said that plans are being made to combat the rising accidents and death toll in U.A.E..

 

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials of the ministry and various police departments. Colonel Ghaith Al Za’abi ,director of traffic and licensing department gave details about the events being organized during the week long campaign.

 

The opening ceremony was also attended by a large number of people including school children dressed in police officer and scout  uniforms handing over leaflets and performing patriotic songs on stage .The Abu Dhabi police band also gave a good performance of their skills.

 

Police departments of Al Ain and the western region have also organized various novel activities for spreading the message of safety to all the sections of the society.
