Operations Department at Abu Dhabi Police has increased its preparations to receive reports and calls to ensure the safety of pilgrims traveling by land, and of all members of the public in different circumstances and at all times, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
Director of the Department Colonel Staff Ali Mohammed Al Dhaheri underscored that all staff members of the central operation room are keen to deliver round-the clock high quality work at different seasons. They respond to the calls made by the public in less than 10 seconds and commit themselves to following up any further developments, he added.
He called pilgrims traveling by land to communicate with the western region operation room in case of any emergency, urging them to cooperate with ‘your safety’ campaign currently implemented by the Security Media Department.
Motorists, in general, and those driving through Al Ghwaifat border check point are urged to follow traffic regulations and call 999 should they need any help.
It is important to maintain continuous coordination between the operation room and other agencies to decease response time, said Colonel Al Dhaheri, noting that operation room’s role is not confined only to receiving and sending reports to the relevant bodies. It is the hub for deploying all recourses and agencies dealing with incidents, traffic and criminal reports.
Coordination is made with traffic patrol vehicles, air wing helicopters, rescue and ambulance department, Saaed patrols, civil defence crime scene, among others, further said Al Dhaheri.
Operation room does not rely on modern equipment only, however its staff members play an essential role as well. They received training courses on how to deal with reports and the public, in addition to English language and computer courses.
