Police College receives academic delegation from Dubai and Sharjah Police
An academic delegation from Dubai Police GHQ and Sharjah Police Directorate General, comprising Major General (Dr.) Mohammad Ahmed bin Fahd, Director of Dubai Police Academy, Colonel (Dr.) Salim Jarwan al Naqbi, Director of Sharjah academy for Academic Sciences and Lt. Colonel Ahmed Mohammad Rafei, Director of Security and Administrative Sciences Institute at Dubai Police Academy, paid a visit to the Police College. The delegation was received by Colonel Saif Ali Al Kitbi, Director General of the College, Directors of Departments and a number of officers.
Al Kitbi said “The visit comes within the framework of exchange of knowledge and expertise, enhancement of relations and reviewing different training and academic experiments. The aim of the visit is to acquaint the delegation with the Police College curricula and ways of academic and scientific level development. This is done through implementation of latest systems to provide police force with qualified officers in operational, administrative and technical fields”.
The College director gave the visiting delegation a guided tour of different facilities, class rooms, training halls, computer and language laboratories and crime scene of the College.
The delegation lauded the progress achieved by the College and its role in graduating qualified officers who can bear their responsibilities and maintain security and stability.
On the other hand the Department of Higher Studies at the College organized a symposium under the title “Excellence in Human Resources Management”, delivered by Professor Robin Field Smith, from the Criminal Justice Studies Institute at Portsmouth University and Senior lecturer at London University. The symposium was attended by Colonel Saif Ali Al Kitbi, Director General of the College, Directors of Departments, Heads of Sections and a number of officers.
The lecturer discussed the important key themes of human resources development through a number of projects and programmes intended to promote human element. He mentioned some successful examples of human resources management to ensure delivery of high quality services in line with modern era requirements.
