PRI World Congress to be held in Abu Dhabi

The world traffic safety organization PRI’s10th world congress will be held in Abu Dhabi during the last week of march, which was announced at a press conference held at the Emirates palace hotel, yesterday.
The PRI President Mr. Jose Trigoso, Brigadier Hasan Al Housani, Director General of the Emirates traffic safety society, Hafeef Al Firki, the President of the Arab traffic safety organization and Dr.Ala Al Bakri, the program committee rapporteur were present at the meeting.
The world congress will be held at the same venue from March 26 to 29 .The attendees to the conference includes the board members of PRI,its affiliated associates from world over, dignitaries from various government and non governmental organizations,experts,researchers and is also co sponsored by various government and non governmental organizations.
Speaking to the press Mr. José Trigoso elaborated the objectives of the organization .The main aim of the PRI and its affiliated organization is to address the issues related to traffic safety and make detailed studies regarding the transport and traffic system as a whole, which is in practice and is being implemented in the different parts of the world. The organizations in association with concerned authorities will develop the strategies to implement the findings of the research so as to reduce traffic accidents and loss of human lives, he said.
The local associate body of the PRI is the Emirates traffic safety society .Brigadier Hasan Al Housani ,the Director General of the ETSS said that the objectives of the congress which will be held in Abu Dhabi is to create an opportunity to exchange the experience ,knowledge and technical know how between the experts from various parts of the word.
Many experts will present their papers and discuss opportunities, possibilities and other remedial measures to address the traffic safety issues, he added.
The main theme of the congress will be ‘think global and act local’ this he said is due to the fact that different nation has different issues and the main cause of traffic accident being the human factor ,the issue need to be seen in the local context, he said.
The president of the Arab traffic safety organization, Mr Hafeef Al Firki and the Rapporteur of the program committee Dr Ala Al Bakri also spoke on the occasion.
All the speakers paid rich tributes to His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior for his initiatives and support that he is giving to the local and international traffic safety organizations in realizing the objectives of traffic safety.
Brigadier Al Housani lauded the contribution of the media in this regard and invited them to give their invaluable assistance for achieving the objective by educating the masses about the urgent need to assure the traffic safety, avoid the loss of valuable lives and other sufferings.
