New traffic laws becomes effective from March 1st
Ministry keen to reduce traffic accidents – Sheikh Saif
UAE Interior Minister HH Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan underlined the ministry does whatever possible to curb rates of the traffic accidents, which occur on the highways.
The remarks follow the amendments in the traffic law, which aims at safeguarding public safety in general and in youth in particular.
Sheikh Saif underscored that the youth represent genuine resource of this country.
He hailed approval of the leadership to the amendments of the traffic laws and issuance of the traffic regulations and procedures; "black points system", which got introduced with immediate effect Saturday, adding that the traffic regulations were issued to match fast urban growth and rise in a number of road users, triggering surge in the traffic accidents.
Sheikh Saif called on all categories of the society, particularly motorists to fully adhere to the traffic laws, regulating the traffic to ensure safety for all.
