Highway safety campaign kicks off
The highway safety campaign under the theme “safe driving safe trip” initiated by the traffic and patrols department of the Abu Dhabi police registered 801 traffic violations on the first day of the campaign.
Lt.Col. Mohammed Dhahi, head of the traffic and patrols department at the capital police said that the drive is being implemented simultaneously in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the highway leading to Tariff.
Major Ali Mohammed Al Mazroui, head of the highway traffic patrols said that police patrols have been posted along all the highways to book the violators. The team is also entrusted to brief the motorists about the importance of safe driving particularly on highways during long trips.
