Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department wins ADP Iron Man Tournament
Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department won the 7th Abu Dhabi Police Iron Man Tournament, while the Operations Department came second and the Western Region Police Directorate came third. The tournament that was organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development in Bahia Region was held within the sports activity program with the participation of nine departments.
On the individual level of the championship, Sergeant Saud Al Zaabi from the Operations Department came in the first place, Sergeant Abdullah Al Luqayti from the Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department came in the second place, and Marwan Matar from the Strategy Department came in the third place.
Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, congratulated the winning departments and thanked all participants for the success of this season. “The current season witnessed more than 40 championships on the level of the leaderships, and championships organized in directorates and departments,” he indicated.
Major Mohammed Al Falahi, Chief of the Sports Activities Section in Abu Dhabi Police, revealed that this tournament marks the closing of the 2014 sports season. “The Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department received the Sports Supremacy Shield, while the Police Schools Department received the Sports Excellence Shield and the Western Region Police Department received the Sports Success Shield from the total number of 23 different departments from Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The Directorate General that received the Commander-in-Chief Shield was the Directorate General of Police Operations with 588 points,” he added.
