ADP GHQ Department of Medical Services has organized a series of lectures at MoI building, ADP GHQ, Capital Police Directorate and Police College, with a view to increase awareness about diabetes.

Dr. Hanan Al Jaghami, Medicine and Diabetes Specialist and In Charge of Diabetes Clinic at the Department of Medical Services, said "We annually and through the Clinic deliver a number of lectures at different Departments of ADP GHQ and MoI with a view to increase awareness among ADP personnel and their families. The audience always interacts with the lectures through their enquiries and questions about the disease and how to protect themselves against it and face it".
"The Diabetes Clinic is about to complete six years. The number of diabetics from ADP personnel who visit the Clinic is high. There are more than 2400 patients who suffer from the disease. They come regularly to the Clinic for treatment. Luckily most of them have the culture of dealing with the disease. Unfortunately the UAE is the most country affected by the disease among GCC States and among other countries. According to statistic around 20% of the population suffers from the disease. It is the second highest rate in the world. The problem does not concern the UAE citizens only, but all population which the expatriates form 80% of the total population", added Al Jaghami.
