Abu Dhabi Traffic participates in Kindergartens Festival
ADP Directorate of Traffic and Patrols has participated in the Kindergartens Festivals, organized lately by Abu Dhabi Educational Zone at Fatima Bint Mubarak Hall, within the framework the programmes aiming to develop traffic culture awareness among children, in order to [protect them against traffic accidents and resulting deaths and severe injuries.
Major Awadh Saif Al Blushi, Head of Public Relations Section at the Directorate said "The Directorate is keen to participate in awareness exhibitions as part of traffic safety strategy. Such exhibitions target students' category from kindergarten to university level".
He has affirmed that these efforts started with the launch of the campaign (Schools without accidents) and the initiative of setting up a traffic village to increase traffic awareness among children.
The Festival in which 300 children from different kindergartens in Abu Dhabi was characterized by simplified programmes and cartoon characters. The aim was to enhance communication and interaction with children, and to confirm that the traffic policeman is a friend of children.
The awareness programmes included getting in and getting off school bus, not standing behind buses, how to be seated inside buses and educating them on the significance of traffic signal lights. The Festival also included traffic quizzes and prizes.
