Graduation of 72 members after completing 4 courses at the “Ports Security Institute”

  • A total of 72 members from the Ports Security Institute in Abu Dhabi Police, including 7 members from Yemen and Egypt, graduated today after completing 4 courses spanning over one week on: "crisis management at airports”, “brainstorming and creative thinking", along with two other courses on “detection and security inspection” using computer based training "CBT", “earning eligibility as operators of hazardous materials division”.

    Lt. Colonel Naima Salim Awad, Acting Director of Ports Security Institute praised the Police leadership’s attention to the human cadre, pointing out that the courses focused on enhancing the participants’ efficiency and refining their knowledge; as an embodiment of the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy that aims to enhance the skills of its members and qualify them for leadership in an efficient manner. 

    Lt Colonel Awad noted that such courses come in line with the keenness to achieve our goals, to ensuring that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi remains a community enjoying security and safety; by providing high quality police services to the citizens, residents and visitors of the Emirate.

    Awad added that the Ports and Airports Security Institute has graduated several courses, which include participants from the neighboring States, demonstrating its success in achieving the desired goals of raising the level performance among the graduates, which reflects positively on the process of excellence in police and security work.

    For her part, Major Wahida Al Hosani, Director of the Training Department, explained that 17 participants took part in the “crisis management at airports” course; another 24 participants in the "brainstorming and creative thinking" course, including 7 graduates from Yemen and Egypt.

    Al Hosani continued that 12 participants took part in the “security inspection and detection” course using the computer based training system "CBT"; while 19 other participants partook in the "earning eligibility as operators of hazardous materials division", which focused developing functional skills and increasing efficiency, to promote the participants’ professionalism in various fields.

    At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the graduates in the presence of a number of officers and officials from the Ports and Airports Security Police Department.
