Police Officers Clubs in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain celebrated the end of the summer program, which was attended by 200 students from the officers’ children "Friends of the Police" in Abu Dhabi between the ages of 7 to 12 years, and 84 officers’ children from Al Ain, between the ages of 8 and 14.
Colonel Arif Saif Al-Shamsi, Director of Sports Clubs and Activities at Abu Dhabi Police emphasized the success of the program, which included a number of activities such as football, karate, bowling, swimming, drawing, calligraphy and excursions.
He noted that the program was supervised by qualified educators who filled the students’ leisure time by various meaningful activities.
He thanked the co-sponsors who contributed to the success of the program, particularly the Emergency and Public Safety Department; the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police, and the Security Media Department at the Secretariat General of the Office of H.H, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Emirates Transport.
During the ceremony, held in the presence of the Sports Clubs and Activities Director at Abu Dhabi Police and a number of officers and parents, entertaining activities and competitions were organized between participants. The audience also watched a film showcasing the activities and events of the summer program.
Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamsi, Head of the Cultural and Social activities at the Police Officers’ Club, welcomed the audience and congratulated them on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. He expressed his happiness to celebrate the success of summer program for police officers’ children.
Student Saleh Ahmed Al-Nuaimi, gave a speech on behalf of the students participating in the program, praising the development atmosphere witnessed by the State; which provided good and decent life for its citizens by virtue of the care and support of the higher leadership.
At the end of the ceremony, Colonel Arif Saif Al Shamsi, accompanied by Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamsi distributed the awards to students of the program, and honored the program’s supervisors.
Also at the Police Officers Club, a ceremony was held to celebrate the graduation of the participants of the diving course, organized for police officers’ children, aged between 12 to 18 years. Diplomas were distributed by Colonel Saif Al-Shamsi.
In Al Ain, Colonel Mohammed Hamad Al Badi, Acting Deputy Director of Al Ain Police Directorate and Colonel Hareb Khamis Al Khaili, Director of Police Officers Club, attended the closing ceremony of the program in Al Ain in the presence of a number of officers and parents.
The closing ceremony began with verses from the Quran recited by Rawda Jaber Al Khaili, a student from the summer program.
After that, First Lieutenant Abdullah Al Taweer Al Ameri gave a speech on behalf of the Al Police Officers Club, emphasizing that the summer program witnessed a major turn-out by officers’ children from both genders. This turn-out prompted the Organizing Committee to support, develop and provide it with all necessary resources; in coordination and collaboration with the various departments and institutions, in line with Abu Dhabi police’s strategy, to fill students’ leisure time with useful programs and protect them from delinquency.
He said: “The summer program included many events, including religious, awareness and guiding lectures, as well as cultural and sports activities, and field visits to various sites of police work.
Al Ameri announced the Club's new initiative to organize events and activities for officers’ children during spring break; recognizing the importance of these activities to promote culture among students and reform their behavior. The new initiative will also aim to organize the program constantly throughout the year, becoming a safe haven for students, to protect them from bad behavior in leisure time.
In conclusion, he thanked all entities and institutions that participated to ensure the success of the summer program as well as students’ parents.
For his part, student Said Sultan Al Faresi, known as the Commander Child and active member of the summer program, gave a speech on behalf of the officers’ children.
The ceremony included a poem recited by student Khaled Mubarak Al Derei, on love for the Country and the Ruler; and another poem by outstanding student Chamma Hareb Al Kuwaiti, on love for the Country and the Ruler, which won the admiration of the audience, and other activities.
And at the end of the ceremony Colonel Mohammed Hamad Al Badi and Colonel Hareb Khamis Al Khaili honored the participants in the program and outstanding students.
Summer program students of Al Ain have visited the Al Ain Police Directorate as part of the field trips program, to get acquainted with the community role played by Abu Dhabi police; represented by the Al Ain Police Directorate.
Colonel Hamad Suhail Al Rashdi, Deputy Director of Al Ain Police Directorate, met the students and expressed his thanks for their visit. For his part, First Lt. Abdullah Al Ameri, supervisor of the program, gave a presentation highlighting the program’s objectives and activities provided to students, in order to enhance the levels of their skills and abilities and fill their leisure time with something useful. The students visited the different divisions and branches at the Directorate accompanied by a team from the Public relations Department; they visited the fingerprints division and listened to an explanation on the role of Police Operations room, and how to receive emergency. They also toured the Public Relations Department and a number of departments.
At the end of the tour, gifts were distributed to students and photo ops were taken.
